Swine Flu Symptoms and Flu TreatmentAs you can imagine, I've been drowned in emails about the Swine Flu both about symptoms and flu treatment. Here's my take. This is NOT a pandemic. The less than 20 deaths in Mexico, sad as they were...were most likely a result of immune incompetence, over crowding, and poor sanitation. At the end of the winter every year, there are more virulent colds and flu around. They mutate over the winter (over-prescribing of antibiotics helps that) and are bigger and badder by April/May. Normal. The fear mongering in the media is plain crazy. All cases around the world except Mexico have resolved completely without death or even serious illness. Swine flu symptoms and flu treatment is pretty much like any other seasonal flu. Many experience body aches, headaches, sore throat, mild to moderate fever, and in some cases nausea, vomiting and diarrhea...again, quite normal for flu symptoms. Note: Avoid Injections of Tamiflu!A great deal of the Tamiflu being used is from old stockpiles dating back to 2005, and yet it is known that the injections are only good for 3 years! If your symptoms are more than 36 hours old..it's completely useless..and yet Big Pharma will happily give it to you...and your children. Side effects you ask? Sure...nausea and vomiting, headache, dizziness, fatigue, cough, diarrhea. Hmmm, isn't that a list like the symptoms of flu? What you are trying to combat? Interesting. AND experts admit they have no idea of whether Tamiflu could be effective at all. So you get the side effects..and oh, it was banned in Japan in 2007 because of safety issues, it's very costly and probably laced with mercury as a preservative, which is a serious neurological toxin that stays in your body, doing damage once injected. Now, think about it people...do you really want that? Why do people have such little faith in the natural defenses inherent in their bodies? Using safe, proven support I mention below is really the only sane way to handle this. Vitamin D3: Although Vitamin D3 (and it must be this form to be effective - biochemically known as 'cholecalciferol') is mainly concerned with regulating calcium levels in our bodies, Vitamin D3 also enhances the immune system and improves the activity of white blood cells, which are nature's number one defenders against infection of any kind. Depending on where you live and how much sun exposure you get, (and most people are fear-mongered into not being in the sun, which is wrong) it is very safe to take between 2-4,000 IU per day. These two items alone will be a very strong protection, ongoing for your immune system. Don't forget, it's not about running around when you hear of a health threat, trying to figure out what to do or take...it's about keeping your immune system healthy at all times! There are many other natural immune support products which people love and swear by. Vitamin C, Echinacea, Olive Leaf Extract, Immune-modulating mushroom extracts, many herbal remedies and the list goes on. If you've had success staying well using these..great! Carry on, I say. Homeopathic Flu Remedies: If you do contract the flu...and it's possible even in the healthiest person if they are exposed during a time of high stress or a period when they are not eating as well as they should, then here are some excellent homeopathic remedies to use to alleviate the flu symptoms and speed your recovery: Gelsemium: This remedy alone saved thousands of people in the mass influenza epidemic of 1918 from death. At the time, may MD's were homeopaths and their patients recovered when traditional therapies failed miserably. The flu symptoms covered by Gelsemium include: dizziness, dullness, muscle pain, heavy head sensation and head 'fullness', drowsiness. Use the 30C potentcy and administer a dose three times per day. Some like to start the dosing with one every 15 minutes for 4 doses and then go to the 3X per day. Eupatorium Perfoliatum: I love this remedy as a flu remedy. It's SO effective for the bone aches one gets with the flu. It's also effective for the flu headache and pain in the eyes so many complain of. Same dosing as Gelsemium. If you chose to use both, alternate the dosing and separate the remedies by at least a half hour.
