SARS - WHAT ARE WE DOING IN MY CLINIC?
The recent Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome outbreak has alarmed people all over the world. The worse type of colds and flus generally come at the end of the winter. Its my opinion that a lot of this has to do with the over prescription of antibiotics and the fact that the "bugs" mutate to become stronger and less susceptible to the drugs.
The people at greatest risk are infants, the chronically ill and the elderly. Aging makes one more likely to become infected. As we get older, our immune systems have been bombarded by that much more free radicals, pollutants, virus and bacteria, etc. Studies continue to show that the best defense against this is a high anti-oxidant intake, both from food and supplementation. Foods would include in particular, berries, the darker the better, fruit and vegetables. My choice of anti-oxidants are:

FURTHER STRENGTHENING OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM - ANTI-VIRALS AND ANTI-BACTERIALS:
On top of a diet rich in organic fruit and vegetables, organic dairy (if you can eat it) and meat if that is your choice, one must include adequate sleep and exercise. Alas, even with this plan our immune systems struggle as mentioned above and so in my opinion, its wise to include "immune boosters" and viral/bacterial defense. In cases of various pneumonias the white blood count often lowers, which is another sign to compensate for.

LifeSource SuperSprouts: This incredible "green" powder
provides an excellent base for anyone's immune system. On resonance
studies it was found to oscillate at the same frequence as human DNA or
121 MHz. All other "green" foods' frequencies were at best
around 70-80 MHz. This leads me to believe that the food would correlate
best with our DNA,which is attacked by virus and bacteria, to optimize its
absorption and utilization by our cells.
Olive Leaf Extract: The olive leaf (Olea europea) has been widely used by
the Greeks and Romans since antiquity. In the early 1990s olive leaf extract
was introduced as dietary supplement for its antiviral and antibacterial
activities. Oleuropein, a bitter glucoside found in highest concentrations
in the leaves, has been well researched:

Oregano
Oil: True oil of oregano offers many exciting remedies to a variety of ailments.
In Herbal Renaissance, Steven Foster credits oregano as having "been
employed to treat indigestion, diarrhea, nervous tension, insect bites,
toothache, earache rheumatism, and coughs due to whooping cough and bronchitis
(primarily for it's antispasmodic effects)." SARS is known to have
cough/lung symptoms and hence I love using Oregano Oil. We use a very
strong, organic one made by St. Francis Herbs, here in Canada.
In addition to fighting various fungi, oil of oregano is useful against bacteria and parasites. As Dr. Cass Ingram DO, asserts, "oil of oregano's antiseptic powers are immense...it inhibits the growth of the majority of bacteria, something that prescription antibiotics fail to accomplish." In the case of parasites, oil of oregano has had success neutralizing worms, amoeba and protozoans.
Beta Glucans: Known for its ability to keep white blood cell count up and
boost the immune system, this is a very valuable adjunct in SARS.

I tend to have people dose a 30 CH remedy 4-6X per day. If you are familiar with homeopathics you can use 200 once per day or every second day..remember to watch the person and change remedies if the patient does.
