Breast Cancer Linked to use of Anti-perspirants.

Any oncologist (cancer specialist) will tell you that the most dangerous area for breast cancer is the area in and around the armpit. Here is the apparent reason: Your body has few areas that it uses to purge toxins besides the obvious urine and stool. These are behind the knees, behind the ears, in the groin area and the axilla or armpits. Anti-perspirants just as the name suggests..stops you from perspiring and thereby not allowing toxins to flow from the body. These are then deposited in the lymph nodes because they cannot be excreted. The majority of breast tumours occur in the upper outside quadrant of the breast right where the lymph nodes are located. Through a free radical type of chemistry these toxins can cause abnormal cells to proliferate and become cancer.

Men are not quite as susceptible, as most of the anti-perspirant product gets caught in their underarm hair but they are not totally immune, either. Women who apply the anti-perspirant after shaving further increase their risk as shaving causes very small nicks to the skin, allowing for further clogging of the area.

H. J. Heinz Co. Buys Part of The Hain Food Group

H.J. Heinz has just paid close to $100 million for a 19.5% share in The Hain Food Group..USA’s leading organic and natural food company. The organic and natural food industry is growing anywhere from 15-25% annually around the world. Although this is undoubtedly a great economical move on the part of Heinz to enter into the health food market, I only hope it will not mean a compromise on the part of the Hain Group of quality in the name of profits. Definitely a "wait and see" situation for us all.

Going South This Winter? Helpful Travel Remedies

Many of us, who live in the northern regions, plan a trip to the sunny south sometime during the wintry cold season. Here are some of my favourite remedies to take along:

Motion sicknessa thermos of tea made from ginger tea bags. Sip a quarter cup at a time as needed for nausea. Also helpful are the homeopathic remedies Cocculus Indicus 30C and Ipecac 30C These can be taken every 15 minutes, alternatively for 4 doses each or until symptoms are relieved.

Jet Lag Both the remedy Cocculus, mentioned before and the tissue salt Kali Phos 6X are helpful here. A dose of each, 20 minutes apart before travelling helps and then a dose on arrival and 2x per day for the next day or so. Does wonders.

Diarrhea "Montezuma’s Revenge" The homeopathic remedy Arsenicum 12 or 30C taken 3-4 times per day alleviates these symptoms. For prevention, I have patients take grapefruit seed extract 4 drops in grapefruit juice twice per day while in countries with dubious water to prevent infection. A good probiotic containing lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus is also a good plan, to keep the normal flora in your intestines at a high level.

Homeopathy Home Page good source of homeopathic pages and info. www.homeopathyhome.com
