METHODS TO ELIMINATE CELLULITE

Chapter 6

Dr. Deb's Natural Approach-Diet

There really is no substitute for good, old-fashioned, healthy nutrition and exercise.   The tried and true methods do work:

1.        Watch your diet.

2.        Incorporate fresh and natural foods into your diet.

3.        Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

4.        Limit the consumption of caffeine and alcohol

5.        Avoid high fat foods.

6.       Get plenty of fiber.

7.     Quit or cut down on smoking.

8.     Avoid medications not necessary to health and well being.

9.     Get plenty of exercise.

Now that is a fairly non-specific list..which I think anyone would say is very reasonable..but I believe you need to know more about why these changes are so important..because storing this type of fat is not just about vanity/beauty.  If this is going on in your body..you are probably headed for other health problems...let me explain...

Toxic fat accumulation resulting in cellulite comes from within.  Sure there are topical applications that help (as mentioned in Chapter 2)..but if this problem is not addressed from within your body, a permanent solution will never be acheived.

With many reports saying that in North America, some 60% and over of the population is obese..we KNOW we are in bad shape as a nation.  This factor alone leads to heart disease, diabetes, circulatory dysfunction, inflammatory disease such as arthritis, skin disorders..and even autoimmune problems such as lupus, multiple sclerosis and the list goes on.

Fat is a great storage place for toxins from the environment, chemicals, pesticides/insecticides from foods, heavy metals because the majority of really adverse toxins are fat soluble....meaning they dissolve and store in your fat compartments.  Visible cellulite is a "warehouse" of these nasty characters..and as you work to lose the cellulite and fat, these toxins will be excreted.  See Chapter 7 for what you can do to help this happen in a more healthy, effective way.  The information below is to get you on the right road to eliminating the fat stores which are showing up as ugly cellulite.

Metagenics is a professional supplement and research company which has developed an amazing program to help people change their body's composition to more lean muscle and lose this toxic fat.  I works beautifully..and along with this type of fat loss..cellulite vanishes as well.

The program is called "First Line Therapy".  It consists of what they call "Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes" (TLC) which include dietary changes, reduction in stress, exercise (at a reasonable level) and appropriate supplements.

The MAJOR bonus in this plan is that not only will your body look so much better, but you are changing your individual biochemistry to correct or avoid more serious health conditions.

Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) are the first, and possibly the most important therapy doctors can prescribe to treat many chronic health problems. Lifestyle changes are now recommended as the "first line of therapy" for treating chronic illness or reducing the risk of other serious health conditions, such as:

  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Diabetes
  • Arthritis
  • Osteoporosis
  • Overweight/Obesity/Cellulite
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • High blood sugar
  • Alzheimer's disease

If you don't want to follow this plan...would rather develop your own protocol to change your body..then here is a book I HIGHLY recommend..Ultrametabolism by Dr. Mark Hyman This is a link to Amazon.com where you can read about the book and buy if you wish...here is one of many great reveiws for the book:

"Drop pounds and keep then off - From someone who was able to banish more than 200 lbs and kept them off, July 13, 2006

Reviewer: David De Sousa "The Automation and Control Guy"

Let me start saying that I have read a lot of books on weight loss, and this is one of best book on this subject. I like it, it is an effective and informative tool, but I disagree in part with its title: "..: The Simple Plan for Automatic Weight Loss". Weight Loss is not a simple matter, since it takes commitment and discipline to achieve real and lasting results. Once we accept this we are ready to turn advices into habits.

My own successful personal experience in weight loss is based on strategies to boost metabolism. Don't stress yourself, eat frequently, eat just what you need each time, and choose wisely what you are going to eat, supplement your diet. Yet simple and it works. I loss more than 200 lbs and shrink my waist (from 44 to 32) in about eight weeks, and I have been able to keep in good shape since then. Every single aspect of my life has improved since then.

As soon as you look at the Table of Contents of this book, you find that every single topic is useful for anyone. This is not a book designed for academia or scientist, is for persons like you and me, we are either worry about our health or our appearance, and we look for practical advices, solutions and directions, we are not interested in test results or scientific data.

Based on my own personal experience I can recommend another tools that you may want to consider, to complement this book and your strategies for boosting your metabolism, loosing weight, and even more important keeping that weight off are:

- A Body Fat Monitor or Scale. This will help you monitor your progress, to assure that the weight you are loosing is fat (fat lost = increased metabolism) and not muscle, water or bone mass (decreased metabolism).
- A Heart Rate Monitor Wrist Watch. This is an excellent tool that will help you monitor and control your Heart Rate in order to keep yourself in a burning fat state (increased metabolism).
- "Heart Monitor Training for the Complete Idiot", a primer on the use of Heart Rate Monitors for health improvement or weight control.
- "The ABS Diet", which is another very practical, readable, insightful, and inspirational book.

I am 39 years old, With the help of this book and the tools I mentioned not only I went fro size 44 to size 32 pants, but also obtained substantial benefits that included weight control, cardiovascular improvements, lowered blood pressure, and improved muscular-skeletal strength and flexibility, but also the myriad of mental and psychological benefits derived from being in the best shape of my life.

Keep in mind that loosing those extra pounds are just part of the equation, you also need a plan that helps you keeping them off. Anything you choose to do that increases your metabolism is in the right direction. A high metabolic rate will keep you burning calories (and fat) all day long. And this book is all about boosting your metabolism"

In my opinion..even if you are slim but have cellulite, you are problably carrying around toxic fat and need to change your body, detoxify, increase lean muscle mass, tone and most likely hydrate..(take in a lot more good quality water).

My suggestions in this chapter can get you there!  Please feel free to Email Me Anytime if you have questions or need help.
